January 2012 President's Message
What an exciting year for the Republican Party. We all need to be out in force to take back the White House and dominate Congress. This is YOUR opportunity to get involved and make a difference in this very important election year.
The FMRWC has elected a Board of Directors who are eager to make this an exciting year for current club members and for new club members. Please help us continue to grow our very strong club by bringing in new members this year. A very special thank you to all of the 2011 FMRWC officers and committee members for their dedication and support of the club and for their dedication to get the job done.
The Florida Presidential Primary is January 31 and our club will begin our can-didate forums in April. Absentee ballots are still available—or you can go to the polls on January 31—to give your preference. Remember . . . every vote counts! The Iowa caucuses resulted in an 8 count margin for Mitt Romney!
Marilyn Stout will lead our Legislative speaker initiatives for the FMRWC, and she will be bringing us many candidates for the spring and summer meetings.
Sharon Harrington, Supervisor of Lee County Elections, and Larry Hart, Assis-tant Lee County Tax Collector, will be our speakers for the January meeting. Please come and hear them speak about the vital role that they play in the election process and the financial viability of Lee County. Representatives of all Republican Presiden-tial candidates have been invited to say a few words on their candidate’s behalf, also.
Mark your calendar for March 20, 2012. for the annual fun and exciting Spring Fling―Sing A Song‖ led by Dot Oestrich and Tina Laurie; this is our annual fund raiser that helps to support our budget for providing great political candidates for our forums.
The FMRWC looks forward to having you attend our meetings every month.
Please join us for an exciting election year. The candidate forums give YOU an opportunity to hear the candidates’ views and to ask questions of the candidates about where they stand on important local, state and federal issues.
Gaile Anthony
FMRWC President
