                                          President’s Message
What an exciting January with the Florida Presidential Primary behind us for now. This is the year for the Republican Party to take back the White House and rule the Senate and House.  Our January meeting had a wonderful attendance with political candidates, members and guests—with all enjoying the political forum and our great speaker—Sharon Harrington and Larry Hart.

February brings more excitement for our club.  We’ll have U.S. Senate candidate Mike McAlister with us.  Also, Betty Parker, known for her “Parker on Politics” column in The News-Press, will round out the program with her discussion about Lee County politics and how the media covers it.

Marilyn Stout, our Legislative Forum leader, has every month planned for the opportunity for all candidates who are running for local, state and federal office to present their views on local and federal issues.  The Following Forums are planned over the next few months:

April—Constitutional positions—Property Appraiser and Lee County Sheriff

                                          May—U.S. House of Representatives

June—Florida State Senate District 27 and House Districts 74 and 75

                                          July—Lee County Commission

                                          September—Lee County School Board

October—Lee Memorial Health System Hospital Board

The March program will be our annual fashion show and silent auction.  The theme is “Sing A Song,” with fashions being offered by Dillard’s; club members will serve as models, with several special models appearing. The annual card party begins at 10:00 a.m.  The social hour and silent auction begin at 11:00 a.m. Please join us for a great morning and early afternoon of fun. There will be door prizes aplenty.  The silent auction keeps you up and moving as you try to get the best deal at the best bid (remember—bid early and bid often!).

Please join us In February. Bring a neighbor or a friend. We have a very exciting year planned for the Republican women of Lee County.
